#13 Ponza – Departure

There’s this “bad girl”, a Florence-taught photograph from Ponza, Federica Di Giovanni, but most of all a sort of alter ego of mine.
During four years, she’s been wandering in basically all the italian minor islands, only in winter, and she’s about to publish a photographic book called, indeed, “Islands in winter”.
I long to have it, walk through its pages, finding my own steps during these four months. You can buy it, or rather contribute to make it real at http://cwbks.co/idi (not active anymore).

Furthermore she welcomed me sweetly in her enchanted, light blue, traditional ponzese house and guided me through this islands of fishermen – this is one, indeed – with too much stupid-kind tourism and a big will to rediscover its bloody incredible nature and sea.

Thank you, Federica.

Leaving Ponza this morning I leave my beloved Southern Italy (but I’m bound to come back soon!): a long leg, the longest to date, awaits me to Isola del Giglio…
