#10 Procida – Departure

Here we leave Procida, too. Unique, virtuous, alive, an island with 10 thousand people in 4 square km which doesn’t hibernate in wintertime. An island full of real seamen by tradition.

The recpetion is worth such tradition. A true thank you to Nicola Scotto Di Carlo (and to his family) who dedicated all his time to unveil to us Procida’s spirit and to show us how to lead it into the future. Thank you too to Giovanni Scotto Di Carlo and Domenico Scotto, who believe that it’s from the kids and the sea sports that we have to start again. And to Roberto Gabriele and his Associazione Vivara Onlus – Amici delle piccole isole (Friends of the small islands), with his wisdom about the charm and the importance of the small islands.

And finally to Lega Navale Italiana Procida for the hospitality.

Ischia, here I come!!!!

The project is conceived and realized by me, Lucio Bellomo, born in 1983 in Palermo, Sicily. Which is also Italy ;-) I am (not proud of being) an engineer in electronics. After the PhD I worked as a physical oceanographer in France, doing research on the physical phenomena that rule the oceans. I took part in several long international oceanographic cruises onboard research vessels. Eager for an even tighter contact with the sea, I left the University and today I work as a diving instructor, both SCUBA and freediving, in small Mediterranean islands and tropical seas. In my spare time I fancy sailing: I began in the Mediterranean Sea and am continuing in the Atlantic Ocean.
